Rapper Waka Flocka Flames set down with Thisis50 to do a question & answer interview. Waka spoke about critics claiming his music isn’t Hip-Hop, his relationship with his mother/manager Debra Antney, his motivation and future goals.
Being a kid growing up in Jersey, just 40 minutes outside of New York City, I had the opportunity to listen to a lot of real lyricists and emcees on the radio. I’m not going to say that Waka isn’t Hip-Hip, but I will say that “his music is a different type of music than what I grew up listening to and I don’t think he’s a real lyricist or emcee.”
At the end of the day, “I respect Waka grind and I do listen to his music.” I have his mixtapes and I will buy his album when it comes out. How do you guys feel about Waka music, leave a comment?
