WHAT DID HE SAY? Drake Responds To Lil Wayne’s Diss At Jay-Z

While out in L.A. for the BMI Urban Awards, MTV News caught up with Drake on the red carpet. Drizzy commented on Lil Wayne’s diss aimed at Jay-Z on Weezy’s track “It’s Good” Ft. Drake and Jadakiss. Drizzy followed Jadakiss footsteps and doesn’t want to be involved.

“I just got a beat and did a verse over it,” says Drake. “Whatever any other individual has to say, you have to ask the man himself. I just did what I know how to do. I just got on a record. I heard the beat, did a verse and heard the final product.”

“At the end of the day, rap is an individual art,” he said. “You express yourself and whatever you wanna say, you say it, so I guess that’s a question for Wayne more than me.”-Drake

Model and singer Cassie is gracing the cover of Idoll magazine’s “Illuminati Issue: The New Model Order.” This is the second issue from the magazine that was created by modeling agencies such as Elite, Wilhelmina, One and Next. The magazine is published twice a year and covers advice, tips and issues facing the modeling industry.

Cassie is in the studio working on her sophomore album.

Styling On Them Lames: Nas Wearing A $460 Louis Vuitton Belt & Timberland Boots

Last night Friday (August 26), Hip-Hop legend Nas performed a tribute for Snoop Dogg at the 11th Annual BMI Urban Awards. He was wearing a $460 Louis Vuitton Intitales Damier Giaphite belt with a pair of Timberland boots.

A couple of weeks ago, Nas shot the video to “Nasty,” which is the first single off his upcoming LP Life Is Good. The disc is scheduled to hit shelves this November.

Touring Across The States: Lupe Fiasco Announces “Generation Laser” Tour

In support of his gold-selling album Lasers, this fall rapper Lupe FIasco will be embarking on a United States “Generation Laser” tour. The tour kicks off on September 1st in his hometown Chicago. This past March, Lupe Fiasco released his album Lasers, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. A few months later, he earned a double platinum plaque for his single “The Show Goes On.” This mark’s Lupe’s second single to go platinum or higher. In 2007, his single “Superstar” went platinum. “The Show Goes On” is Lupe’s biggest record to date.

He was rocking a pair of Air Jordan Retro 5. Wiz Khalifa performed a tribute to Snopp Dogg at last night’s event. The Black/Metallic Silver version of the Air Jordan 5 is one of the most popular colorways that ever existed.

Don’s & Diva’s: Celebs Spotted On The Red Carpet At The BMI Awards

Last night Friday (August 26), were the 11th Annual BMI Urban Awards. The star-studded event took place at the Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. During the ceremony, Drake won the prestigious “Songwriter of the Year” award and Snoop Dogg was presented the icon award by super producer Dr. Dre. Wiz Khalifa, Nas and The Game performed a tribute to the West coast OG.

Christina Milian, Drake, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Ron Artest, Busta Rhyme, DJ Khaled, Angel Lola Luv and a few other celebrities were spotted walking the red carpet. Peep the pictures:

Another Plaque: Kelly Rowland’s “Motivation” Hits Platinum Status

The sexy and talented Kelly Rowland is surely stuntin on them hoes again. Her single “Motivation” Ft. Lil Wayne is now platinum. Rowland took to her official Twitter account @KellyRowland to break the news.

Rowland recently released her third solo album Here I Am. The disc debuted at #3 on the Billboard chart; selling over 77,000 copies in its first week. The single “Motivation” Ft Lil Wayne topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Rowland is also a judge on Simon Cowell UK’s X-Factor television show. “I was excited about the opportunity about everything; to find new talent and to be a mentor,” says Rowland. If that’s not enough, Rowland was recently added as a co-headliner on Chris Brown’s “F.A.M.E.” tour.

Earlier in the spring, Harlem’s rapper Cam’ron and his protegé Vado performed at Webster Hall in NYC for their “Girls Night Out” series. The U.N. members performed their track “Speakin In Tongues” and “We All Up In Here.” This fall, Cam’ron and Vado will be releasing their new mixtape Bosses Of All Bosses 3 via eOne/Koch. This is the third installment to their “Boss of all Bosses” sequel.

I was spotted inside of a photo studio in New Jersey doing a photo shoot to promote my blog YoDonBleekRaps. I was also wearing a $315 B.B. Simon belt, a $274 Louis Vuitton coin holder, with a pair of $160 Air Jordan Six Rings.

Lil Wayne: Tha Carter IV Leaked Online, “She Will” Debuts On Hot 100, Plus Cortez Bryant & Birdman Speak On TC4

Lil Wayne‘s latest single “She Will” Ft. Drake has debuted at #3 on Billboard‘s Hot 100. The track is off Weezy’s upcoming LP Tha Carter IV. This is Weezy’s highest-ever opening rank on the chart. In other Weezy news, just like most major Hip-Hop albums, Tha Carter IV leaked online.

Lil Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, spoke to Rolling Stone on August 24th, and was feeling very confident that Weezy’s new album wouldn’t leak. ”I think we’re lucky this time. We held it until the last moment we could, and we didn’t send any songs or beats by e-mail – we used iChat, or a person had to get on a plane to share music…I’m knocking on wood before I get off the phone with you and it’s all over the Internet.”

Unfortunately, they weren’t too lucky because the album leaked hours after Bryant got off the phone with Rolling Stone.

Birdman speaks on Tha Carter 4

“This is one of the biggest releases of the year, and we wanted to make sure that everybody got to play their part at the same time.“

Birdman on wanting to sell a million-plus in the first week and being okay with leaks.

“The goal is to sell a million-plus copies,” he explains. Birdman says he’s actually okay with leaks, to a point. “I can deal with it for short period of time. It’s when you have a leak out for a long time that it’s crazy.”

Tha Carter IV will go on sale digitally on iTunes at midnight on August 29th.
