The talented and beautiful Nia Long covers the August issue of Essence Magazine with her two sons, Kez and Massai Jr. The successful Hollywood actress is looking gorgeous in a bright yellow dress. “I’m in my forties, post baby and I’m thinner than I’ve been in years. The last step will be letting my hair go natural. That’s when you’ll know I’m free,” said Long.
Southern music mogul Birdman and his brother Slim are gracing the ‘Urban Power List’ of Billboard‘s latest issue. This issue is on newsstand now!
Also nabbing a magazine cover is Taylor Gang’s first femcee Lola Monroe. She is looking very sexy on the cover of BE Magazine‘s ’2nd Annual Sexy Summer’ Print Issue. In the cover story, Monroe talks about working with Wiz Khalifa and shares her thoughts on today’s female rappers. Below are some excerpts:
ON WORKING WITH TAYLOR GANG:
“After talking to Wiz about the plan, he told me what he had going on and saw everything I had going on in my movement and he wanted me to represent Taylor Gang. The energy was positive and everything worked out.”
ON RELEASING MIXTAPES:
“It’s important to solidify yourself musically especially as a female. I’ve Been on my own since the age of fifteen so it’s already a natural way of thinking for me not to wait on anyone and to just go forward, not relying on people.”
ON THE STATE OF FEMALE RAP:
“I think female rap is in a really good state BEcause there are a lot more females that are coming out, and I think it’s important for Hip Hop to have that diversity on a female stand point.”
