Men Lie, Women Lie, Numbers Don’t: Rick Ross ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ Hits Gold

After six weeks of being in stores and on iTunes, Rick Ross number one album, ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ has been certified gold by the RIAA (selling over 500k copies). Buy the album now on iTunes.  ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ is Rick Ross’ fifth solo album and marks his fourth number album, since making his debut back in 2006 with ‘Port Of Miami’ which debuted at the one. Ross’ other albums, ‘Trilla’ and ‘Deeper Than Rap’ also debuted at number one on the ‘Billboard’ Top 200 Chart. ‘Teflon Don’ debuted at number two. Earlier in the week, Rozay flew to the Caribbean islands of Anguilla to film “Diced Pineapples”. Thanks to Barry Weiss (Chairman and CEO Island/Def Jam), Steve Bartels (President/COO Island Def Jam Music Group) and Joie Manda (President of Def Jam), Island Def Jam is hotter than the middle of July. This summer the label received four number one chart-topping albums (three Hip Hop albums in one month). 2 Chainz ‘Based On A Tru Story’, Nas ‘Life Is Good’, Rick Ross’ ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ and Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe’ albums all debuted at number one on the Billboard top 200, while Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ debuted at number two.
