Meek Mill’s ‘Dreams & Nightmares’ Made History; He’s The 1st Philly Rapper In Eight Years To Debut High On Charts

Despite Hurricane Sandy flooding parts of the Eastern coast last week, Philly’s own Meek Mill still made history by becoming the first Philadelphia rapper in eight years to debut high on the charts. Meek’s debut album, Dreams & Nightmares debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, with over 167,000 copies sold in the first week. In 2004, Swizz Beatz’s former protegé Cassidy’s debut album, Split Personality debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Album charts. As, I always say, “I am so proud of Meek’s success. He is a diamond in the rough and the meaning of a Dream Chaser.” Order Dreams & Nightmares on iTunes now. Congrats Meek Mill!
