Bad Boy/Interscope rapper French Montana is scheduled to drop his long-delayed debut album, Excuse My French on March 12, which is three days after the 16th year anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G’s death. The album is being executive produced by Diddy and Rick Ross and features the Southern inspired lead single “Pop That” Ft. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Drake which also samples Uncle Luke. The album’s second single “Marble Floors” Ft. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz is also inspired by the Southern rap audience. Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., The Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa, Lana Del Rey, Max-B, Wale & Ma$e are also featured on the album.
Did French Montana gravitate toward the Southern rap audience more once he got signed? His music does not sound like traditional New York Hip-Hop music.
