On this past Saturday, and just four days after the premier of “Hard Knocks” on HBO, Chad Johnson was arrested for allegedly head butting his newlywed wife, Evelyn Lozado. Now if most of you were like me and taking bets on how long this marriage would last, I’m sure you didn’t expect for trouble to come so soon for the couple.
According to the police report, after an evening of shopping, Ev found a receipt for a purchase for a box of condoms and in true Ev fashion she approached her husband about it. An apparent argument ensued and this is where it gets sketchy; from Ev’s standpoint Chad became upset, grabbed her and butted her on the forehead causing a laceration. Evelyn then went to a neighbor’s house to get away from him and the neighbors called the cops. The former Mr. Ochocinco has a different account, stating that they did indeed have an argument but Ev was the one who head-butted him. Since he had no visible marks or bruises and Evelyn indicated that she wanted to press charges, the NFL receiver was arrested. Chad was charged with domestic violence and released on a $2,500 bond.
Now no one is sure of what is to become of their upcoming VH1 reality show “Ev and Ocho” that is set to premier on September 3rd. What is known is that Chad went from Ochocinco to Unemployment as the Miami Dolphins cut him just hours after his arrest.
For all of you “Basketball Wives” fans, you all know that Evelyn does indeed have a temper and has admitted in the past that “she will head-butt a bitch.” Now I’m not sure who was right or wrong in this situation, I just know that when a woman is extremely angry (which finding out about your husband purchasing condoms can cause anger) she tends to act out of character. Now Chad may have very well head-butted Ev, we’ll just have to let the facts play out in this one.
And again for all you that were betting on them, who thought that they would only be a month into their marriage before something this drastic happened!
